- lower strut brace
stops the weak pelvis-like structure of the lower suspension arm mount from flexing alot, providing consistant stable suspension geometry during high lateral & longitudinal forces. http://micra.org.uk/threads/pollymobiles-rebuild.35251/#post-381110
- front & rear whiteline sway bars
very cost effective tool to increase the front & rear axles rolling resistance and change the handling towards more oversteer/understeer. rear swaybar has higher priority and then the fronts. http://micra.org.uk/threads/pollymobiles-rebuild.35251/#post-381101
- fit equal tyre specs, tread depths on all wheels
for a consistant predictable handling behavior
- check tyre pressures within labelled tyre limits
using vastly different spec tyres to the original will obviously throw the optimum tyre pressure number out the window and would require some testing/tuning to find the correct pressure at which all 4 treads are fully touching the tarmac and the cars baseline handling is safely neutral.
it's alot more complicated to get absolute right cos each fraction of a Bar makes a big handling difference
- adjust brake & throttle pedals (to improve driver control feel) in this order:
adjust throttle cable till pedal hits the plastic stopper on the floor
adjust throttle pedal resting point via the rubber stopper at the top of the pedal till cable is just snug
with engine running, adjust brake pedal/master cylinder screw shaft till the point at which the brake pedal becomes firm is level with the throttle pedal
