Sand, Prime, Base and Clear. Shouldn't crack then! In fairness I am actually an atrocious painter so I understand your worry, much to my dad's dismay as painting is his trade.

OP OP jcoopz10 Apr 8, 2012 #7 thanks and do you need plastic primer? i thought i might need to sand as standard black bumpers are bumpy plastic.

Tchaaa Buy & Sell Member Apr 8, 2012 #8 Ah yeah forgot about that, I would assume yes but I've never properly painted anything plastic. Really it's best to sand anything thats going to be painted, helps it stick better, helps to get the surface really clean too.
