Head Gasket Help!

My micra has a bad head gasket. I have obtained the part and am thinking of attempting the job myself.

I was wondering if anyone knew..
How much time it takes to do the job?
The average cost of repair from a shop?
Where i could find a manual with info?
Any tips would be useful?

Info would be much appreciated.

you can get a haynes manual for the k10 it should show you how to do it on that

It takes around 3 hours to finish the job. You need a torque wrench and something straight to check the head for deformations.

You will need a headset, bought mine from japparts.com

Takes between 3-6 hours to do depending on your knowledge...

The head bolts can be used again as they are not "stretch" types

Haynes manual is a bible

Cost here in UK could be £250-£400, not sure how much in Canada.

I think 3-6 hours is a little optimistic, unless you're an expert.
