gearbox strip down help

Hi all micra people
i hope you can help ive just got hold of a 95 1L micra very cheep
due to it having a lot of noise from gearbox.
i thought it was the cluch release bearing so changed the cluch
and bearing(did not fix it) (it was making big bad noise on tick over but went
when put cluch down)
so now i have gearbox on bench waiting to strip it and check out
bearings any help on starting the strip whould help

yeah be careful with the bearings lol. i think there is 3 or 4 ball bearings that have to come out of the box before you can strip it. you would be better with a manual of some sort cause they are a nightmare to do (fiddly) they are ok when you have done a few. i have done it 3 times now and still cant get it right lol its the ball bearings i get stuck with. i just had to do mine again the other day and i was left with the biggest ball bearing in the box but i have no idea where it goes thats why a manual will help lol. ive just put my box on anyway and if it doesn't work ill get another one as its easier.

thanks pollyp very good thread i think that will help my box is good apart from
bearings i think
