Not too hard atall, once you unscrew the gear knob off and prize the rubber gaiter off its all pretty self explanitary, i glued the new gaiter on iirc, it was virtually the same diameter as the original.

My currently gaitor must be the thing I dislike the most in mine right now. So ugly, so WEAK.
