Front end cross member welding needed

The cross member needs replacing and i have been quoted £420! Anyone know anyone who can do it cheaper?

I can weld, but I've never done a full cross-member before!
You're proly not far from me either!

For that price, you could buy a MIG welder, an ebay cross member and a drill .

Im in the process of doing mine at the moment, IMO £100-120 labour would be about fair.

Mine looks iffy be saying good buy to her if thats pointed out in the MOT in Sept and cost,s that amount

dont stress about it,when i took our micra to kwikfit i was told that the crossmember could be totally shot and it would still pass its mot as it wasn't classed as being structual and outside the 30cm rule

the mot inspector at kwikfit told me they are always getting updates from the ministry of transport and he told me as far as he was concerned he couldn't fail the car even if it was rusted through,i know what you meen though tango3 you sound a bit like me if something is fitted it has to work even if its a failed bulb that will take an hour to change it has to be done.
