dash mat..its a granny accessory. just like a piece of molded carpet that protects your dash from light..cracking from being out in the sun a lot and yeah. you can throw stuff on it and it doesnt slip around (much)

see any familiar cars? i'd assume what we have on the road is fair different to what you guys see..
