Hi does anyone know a good company that will do day/week insurance for a 17 year old on a small car?
Cheers

what do you want it for?
if i need short term cover ie a day or two or a week i go on confused or such take out the cheapest deal with the lowest deposit start the policy just before i need it then cancel it straight away as soon as ive finished.
just done this when i needed to bring a primera back from sunderland to leicestershire had it insured for two weeks, then cancelled the policy they even gave me back two weeks money from the months deposit! so two weeks cover cost me £15 or there abouts a damn sight cheaper than i could get short term cover for!

Or just do what i do and call up your insurance company and ask for a temporary insurance cover on a car. you pay a lot for your insurance so make them work for you.

What I did for the Mongolia trip (we needed a week insurance for the UK and Europe part of the trip) was take out a normal insurance policy @ £1200 a year with monthly payments then cancel it and pay the £30 cancellation charge.

If your feeling particularly wily, take out a years cover, use the no quibble 14-day cancellation thing in their T&C to get a refund.

Let us know if you manage it!

But to add to that: DO NOT use 1st Quote insurance

They're bloody rude and inconsiderate.

i just phoned up my girlfriends insurance in the end and they added me as a temp driver for 30 quid
