Corsa piston build with throttle bodies

Have you checked all earths? You could get a LED to light up with a bad earth, but anything with a bigger load i.e. an injector not enough current can flow.
 
I'm getting fuel from the injectors now

All I did was put the half link on the slack side

Then lined the links to the marks with cyl 1 @ tdc

All lobes point to correct position as in pic previous page

yes but if you lined up cams 2 and 3 instead of 3 and 2, then the spark will be 180 out and only firing on the leaking injector

Here's what I've got with everything lined up to the timing marks with cyl1 at tdc

Thought the dizzy could on slot in the cam one way? It's off the centre ain't it

Had funny revving, but it ran ok

I followed the timing chain guide precisely (I think)

The key slot for the crank was vertical, all the marks lined up perfectly

Thought that's how you do it

very strange aint it neil ! would it be anything to do with the ecu resorting to batch firing when sensors are down ? (described in the pdf manual iirc)
 
Fixed it!!

It runs, better than ever.


But....as soon as I breath on the pedal, it dies

It's a brand new tps too

the only time i had the same die when opening the throttle was when i had low fuel pressure or very lean mixture neil
 
I haven't fitted these ga16 injectors yet

Would that help?

I've got just under 50 psi fuel pressure

Change to ga16 inj.......no change

I don't think the ecu is getting a signal to advance the ignition when I rev it

I've got 5v at the green wire for the tps......when i put my probe on the other connections, I get no voltage come out of it........what should I be seeing, or is my meter not gunna read anything?

are you feeding the 5v reference voltage and earth in neil ? then checking the output from the variable/signal wire
 
I've just quickly mocked a tps up and closed its 0.3v and wot it's 4.5v. 5vref input to the green wire, ground to the black/white wire and then measure between ground and the blue signal wire.

I get nothing.

I get a change of resistance between the connections, but I don't see any voltages

I can only assume its faulty then. Whether closed or open you should get some voltage across the blue wire and black/white wire.

Got it going better, think some of the shielding got crimped into the spade connection.

Runs but better, drove it too.......was terrible

i guess so mate, a rising rate fuel reg can help tho, it drops the fuel pressure at low throttle/high vacuum, so you can get away with big injectors without bogging down so badly
 
If i go down the route of getting a new ecu and mapping

Should I get all the cams and exhaust sorted first before it goes on the rollers?

If not, might get a microsquirt, or get another k-data that my mini has......know how to wire that thing up blindfolded now
