Car Jacking Warning

Just got this in an email! Might be worth remembering

ALL CAR OWNERS AND CAR DRIVERS PLEASE READ Warning!!!!
Be aware of new car-jacking scheme.
You walk across the car park, unlock your car and get inside. Then you
lock all your doors, start the engine and shift or put into reverse.
You look into the rear-view mirror to back out of your parking space and
you notice a piece of paper stuck to the middle of the rear window.
So, you shift the gear stick back into park or neutral, unlock your
doors and jump out of your car to remove that paper or whatever it is
that is obstructing your view.
When you reach the back of your car that is when the car-jackers
appear out of nowhere, jump into your car and take off!!
Your engine was running, you would have left your purse in the car and
they practically mow you down as they speed off in your car.
BE AWARE OF THIS NEW SCHEME THAT IS NOW BEING USED IN
LONDON/MANCHESTER MAKING ITS WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY!!!!!!!!
Just drive away and remove the paper later! It is stuck to your window
and be thankful that you read this email.
I hope you will forward this to friends and family especially to
women! A purse contains all identification, and you certainly do NOT
want someone getting your home address. They already HAVE your keys!!!
JUST BE AWARE AND TAKE CARE IT WILL PROBABLY SOON ARRIVE IN YOUR AREA

hmmmmm doesnt seem right, im allways very caucious about locked doors etc even in areas i know are safe as houses

Why would you get out of the car with the engine on? its just asking for the car to be stolen, even if your popping around the back of it.

I've seen people do it! Parking on double yellows and leaving the engine on etc just to pick up a takeaway etc!

Always been a hoax and if it was becoming an issue it would be on the news and police would start dealing with it.

Ye it could happen though but if you're stupid enough to get out leaving it running instead of putting your wiper on then it's your own fault!

Wipers dont always get things off the glass!

Hoax or not many cars get jacked around manchester - always lock ur car, close ur windows - the works! if u feel unsafe lock ur self in the car - etc etc - around here it's not uncommon to hear some ones been dragged from the car etc so be careful.

LOL, if it were real and someone was desperate enough to steal a rusty old 1.0 K11, I'd suggest they wore crash helmets, as I'd make a point of taking my wrench with me when I go out to remove said piece of paper........then again, no ones gonna be able to drive, let alone get up after I've embedded my tire iron firmly into the back of their knee
