I'm sure many of you read Motorsports News and have seen the competition being run earlier this year by the BTRDA Motorsports Future to find a lucky winner who will get the use of a Nissan Micra 1.3SRi, to used on six different types of motorsport events.
Have a look here for more information.

As you will see the events are designed for standard cars and the Micra is very standard.
The car was on the BTRDA stand at the Autosport show earlier this month and I got chatting to one of the commettee members responsible for the Micra and by chance he happens to live in my home town Oxford. They want the car to remain fairly standard to show that anyone can compete in motorsport and you don't have to have a special car to have some fun. The car is used on events were car control is more important than outright speed and they have agreed to use a set of our 50mm lower springs with some Bilstein B4 dampers like the ones here.

We ( www.humphrisoxford.co.uk http://www.humphrisoxford.co.uk/pdfs/New-Micra-Rally-Car-Parts-List-From-Jan-2009.pdf ) have also agreed to help with the maintance of the car so it will be in our workshops next week for it's MOT, service and to fit the suspension. Having had a good look around at the Autosport show I think we will be doing more than just a service, but if we can keep the Micra out there to show off it's true potential then that can only be a good thing.
I will post some pictures of the MIcra with the suspension kit fitted as soon as it's ready.
For anyone looking to get started in motorsport this is the best way to go, even if you have just started to drive.
