Brand new Head for the k10

being that this is remanufactured i wonder if it would have a better air flow than the normal ma10 head

perhaps this would be a nice addition to thoose pistons i showed you ed :p

it will have been chemically cleaned and then new valve guides seals and valves. It will offer no peformance gains unless the stock head is dead...

ok...so how much would it cost to have new valves springs & seats, skim head & chem. clean done on one of our own heads?

Is ’re engineered' the same as 'reconditioned'?

basically this head has probably been remade by a compnay other than nissan from the orginal blueprints so in therory it should be identical to the original. good for someone who wants to do an engine rebuild to standard specs

It's an original Nissan head. It has been cleaned using a chemical solution. It will have been skimmed, maybe the valve seats re-cut, new guides put in, new valves and springs. It will be as close as possible to a new head that you will get.

So whats it worth? If a mechanic said this needed replacing, what kinda fee would they charge for parts? Approx

no idea mate but it would cost a hel of a lot more than £50 probably talking in the hundreds at least, its the time involved that would cost, plus you would need a new cambelt proably waterpump as a mater of course etc etc

What i dont understand is u lot ******* over a recon standard head and when i put my spair race head on ebay nobody was interested apart from one lad from on here that won it,that head that he won was far better than this head.your loss his gain

not all of us bob,

I've taken that SU carb to a local carb specialist to get overhauled, I get it back in a week so will have it running again with the carb and manifold you gave me :grinning: .

I've had thre autograss guys after that manifold you know, one offered me 300 quid for it. Plus Ive been looking into this autograss and seems your pretty fast arnt you mate, "fastest man on grass"

I wouldnt bother trying to convince people on here, it'll fall on deaf ears so to speak.

Mark.

p.s how did you get on with that camshaft?

i only posted it for the benifit of those who may be interested in a standard head i infact bidded on the racing head you had but forgot to watch the auction...

no need for this sort of attitude not everyone one on here wants there car to be fast cos lets face it these cars are not! and never will be without a decent engine. spending money on tuning a ma10/12 is pointless trust me ive thrown enough at it with nothing but a 14hp increase to show for it.

also the ma12 is notorious for blowing head gaskets skimming the head is only going to make it even more unrealiable...

yeah but speedle, you said yourself that your 1.2 is quicker than your old 1.0, and the super s is ultra slow standard.

Modifying a MA12 is not pointless, they are a good reliable engine, Mine has over 110K on it and Still Pulls to 6k, Still hits 100mph with 5 people in the car on 15inch wheels, still has golden brown rockers, still starts first time at minus 3 at 7am in the morning, still doesnt smoke.

you may have tried and got no where but for me my car only gets faster.

dont get me wrong i love the reliablity of my car and for what it is, it is quick but spending £100's on the engine is a waste when you could drop a cg13 in for very little whack a janspeed manifold on and get 100bhp for about £400-500, the cg13 is much stronger and can handle huge power on standard internals, as proven by jo's 200+bhp i mean yes it went in the end but did lots of miles considering the engine is designed to take 75bhp

the internals on the ma series are weak and putting more power though them will just make them wear faster. thats why the ma10T and ma09ERT both have uprated internals and the ma10t is only 76bhp so makes you think if it needs to be uprated to handle and extra 16bhp over a standard ma10 how much will it take before it pops

If you know someone who will drop a cg13 in for little money then please pass the details on as i would book mine in for a transplant, the closest i had was near two grand, I'd rather buy a imported super turbo for 3 grand.

I would be happy if my k10 was 80-85bhp. that would mean it would be same an an ax gt. meaning just over 8sec to 60 and 115 top end.

for winning the fastest man on grass class 2 final 2005.just to show you the size thats a pint glass

****** hell now thats! a throphy! :D

the cg13 transpalnt i will be doing myself, i have a mate that can weld me the mounts need a fuel pump to get the correct pressure for injection and some wiring(so ill just take the loom from a k11 and wire it up should take too long few weeks. ill be fitting k11 kubs so the drive shafts shouldnt be a problem.

the reason people want so much is the time involved its in ensence very easy, a sunny lump from the b seris would be easier as they are carb there's a picture of it somehwere....... ill have a hunt for it
