Best way to lower a K10?

Hi all

Can somebody recommend a good way to lower a K10 at a decent cost?

Have seen plenty of lowering springs that lower by 35mm - is there a way to go lower? Can't seem to find anything else that would lower the car more than that.......

Failing that, what would be the best springs to go for, and would I need different shocks?

Thanks :)

Edit Polo 6n Coilovers, thats what im in the process of at the moment.

you cant go lower then -35mm unless you cut the springs which i recommend you not doing! but yeah polo 6n coilovers are £160 -£200 off ebay.

New KYB shocks:
http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/gas-shocks.php?recordID=668 - your looking at £85 for rear shocks
http://www.buypartsby.co.uk/gas-shocks.php?recordID=667 - £162 for front shocks

New Spings:

£350 odd for brand new suspension that only lowers your car -35mm seems like a waste. you probably shop around and find it for cheaper but i wouldnt say no cheaper then £300.

I got my coilovers second hand for £100, paying a welder £30 to weld and doing the rest of the work with a mate.

Cheers

Chris

thanks for the extensive reply Chris - much appreciated! :)

like the sound of the coilovers but looks like a ball ache to get them to fit...........

No Problem Chap.

Always best to answer all questions first time :) yeaahhh little bit of work, i still think that it will cost around the same to pay people to do the work for you, each of the jobs is only about 30 minutes.

:)

Just to add guys, Mister Auto are currently doing 40% off KYB shocks at the moment. I've done my back ones and am waiting for the fronts to be delivered :).

and rest like almost half a tonne over on a tiny bit of the spring?

lol.......its the other way round dude :)

8 or so coils on a spring you chop 1/2 a coil off the top you still have 7.5 left ;)

look a this example below left no chop right 1/2 a coil chopped
these arnt micra springs this is just en example :)

Works even better if you use lowering springs. Cos they are progressively wound the top and bottom few coils are tight and run parallel to each other so seat very well, even when you cut some coils off (which I will be doing after MOT in april) More lows :D

I have lowering springs,
with the fronts having 3 coils cut and the rear 2

had absolutely no issues what so ever, ride is alot better and firmer when cut
cheapest way? most probably i got gas shocks all round for the pricey sum of nothing :)

so just shop around and make your decision from there
