best plugs to get

Plugs won't gain you any power whatsoever
You'll need to support them with uprated leads and coil. Then you'll have a strong spark ready for more power

if youre going to do HT leads, get copper core ones, not magnecor leads. ive tested magnecor leads against standard leads and the resistance is near enough the same, between 2.5Kohm for the shortest to 4Kohm for the longest. i made my own copper core HT leads, and the entire 3M length i received in the post had 0 ohm resistance.

Did you check lead resistance?

the meter leads are copper core with gold plate connectors as well. tested them on another meter this morning :) they read 0 ohms. theres not enough resistance for the meter to measure! either im doing it wrong or my multimeter isnt sensitivie enough, but ive done the tests a number of times and always the same reading.

i would sooner spend my time and money on something that actually gave any power gains personally, why would a manufacturer want to fit stuff the gave the engine less power ?? (at the expense of economy or cost etc)
set your timing properly with a strobe, and adjust the valve timing to account for the inevitable wear in the 15 year old chains, and you will feel GENUINE gains in power and fuel consumption :)

yer im not 100% sure if i want to mod the engine yet and i have a 17 year old chain in mine so if i was to try and incrase power i would maybe have to condisor changing the chain over

Why? The chain is good for the life of the engine providing its looked after

its not modding the engine jamie, its restoring the valve opening/closing timings back to the original factory spec :)

like you say Frank, its compromise between quality and expense..... i found i felt a bit of a difference from standard with bosch super 4s gapped to 2mm and these HT leads. but yes i would completely agree that sorting the timing out will be a much greater power improvement!

Plugs are more personal choice I know people who still stick to copper plugs or others who uses this iridium crap..

The normal price is that I can get 4 super 4 spark plugs for £15ish. My mate can get me for £11ish. (Discount ;))

Do you feel the difference now?
