winter wheels

My fine wench is treating me to some new tyres as an early christmas present. As I'm only human I have a bad habit of sliding my back out in the wet and I know this winter I'll kill myself if I don't get some decent tyres on.
I'm just on 13" steels.
What would you all recommend?

I was running Kumho KH17's (£26 a corner) and found the grip in the wet to be excellent, completely removed the lift off oversteer, even when I was trying to lose the back end.

R888, not that good in the wet. or in the winter months. Just take it to the track
