Whirring Noise....

Hi,

I have had my Micra Sport SR (2006) 1.6 model for about 2 months.
For the last few days it has been making a whirring 'squelly' type noise when the engine is in on and I'm driving.
Could it be the fanbelt? :suspect:

(I used to work for Nissan Tech Centre up until a month ago!)

Ive just had it fixed - starter motor apparently, as it cut out on me when I tried to start it several times and kept whirring.
£440 !!!!! Im pretty annoyed at the cost as its only 4 years old. grr
My garage tell me that it is really difficult to get hold of a starter motor for a Sport SR & that Nissan were going to charge £560 for one...they go one for £350.
I hope they havent just had my old one refurbished and put it back in....
