wheel nuts and spacers.

ive been offered some cheap alloys for the 10 but the centre bore is slightly to small looking at it if i put 5mm spacers on they should then sit fine the problem being that the rear studs are very short and the nuts dont go all the way on. there only about one thread short would it be safe to run these wheels like this?

Are you using alloy wheel nuts? Steely ones are no good
Don't know if it's safe or not but if there's plenty of meat on the alloys can you not countersink a mill or two give it a bit more thread to bite?
