George k11

I want to upgrade my 1.0 engine to 1.3.
If is possible with gearbox & Ecu.

My car is March (Japanese version) but i think is the same

Also the engine must send to Cyprus. I guess is around 250-400 euro shipping ?

That's a tough ask George, no 1.3s around at the moment, and very expensive to ship I would think.
A bit more than your guess I would think (!)
I shopped around the other day for a rear door to Ireland, in a wood box 50 kilos £200+ mate, so an engine to Cyprus (?) big bucks I'm guessing.

My friend davyboy
They call me today and they found one engine 1.3 with the Ecu here in Cyprus and they asking 400 euro
I thing is good deal.
Is it possible to check out the engine before i pay for it ? Any sings to check ?
How i will check the engine that it was manual ? I think is different the throttle bodies the automatic if am right ?

Any Help will high appreciated

Automatic or manual won't make a difference unless your swapping gearbox too. It advisable to use 1.0 gearbox because slightly lower ratios. Automatic engine is slightly stronger too as its closed deck but really if your not turboing or going high comp shouldn't matter

How can i know that my gearbox will fit the new engine?
Because the guy from the parts that have the engine told me that some engines 1.3 will not fit to mine 1.0 gearbox
Is it possible to know the match? What engines goes with witch gearboxes?
My engine is 1.0 and the car is 1998 march
What engines do i had to look for in order to put my gearbox and all the rest without any problems?
Also when i go there how can i recognise the year of the 1.3 engine because the guy has 3 engines!!!!

First, theres 2 engines people call 1.3 the cg13 (1.3) and cga3 (1.4) what year is your current engine? The gearboxes are all interchangeable as far as I know apart from that the only other difference is the prefacelift 1.0 has a 160mm clutch and the 1.3 1.4 and facelift 1.0 have 180mm clutch. Most people just buy the engine and swap that and use the 1.0 gearbox with no problems whatsever. In short the 1.3 with 1.3 clutch can take any k11 Micra gearbox. But need to know if yours is coilpack or dizzy? What year engine?

Mine is 1998 and is coilpack i quess (picture above)
My engine is CG10
Tomorrow i will go to see the e engines
How do i chose the correct one
Also could you advice about the engines? What i had to check in order to get the best one and the correct one. ?

Your engine is not a coilpack, its a dizzy ( distributor type) any 1.3 that doesnt have 4 big blocks on top of the engine will work. In the pic of you engine you have 4 cables going into top of the engine a coilpack has 4 square things. I'd get the engine from the lowest milage car, Apart from that not sure how you could check engine without taking apart or using a leakdown tester

Just came from the guy who have 3 engines. The one is with the ecu
And it looks like brand new!!!
He can give me 6 months quaranty and free the ecu. He ask 350 euro. The engine is from automatic car. Is there any problem? With the ecu or the engine or is the same?
The quy said to me the his 30 years expirience tells him that the engines from automatic cars are better and stronger. The specific engine is 1998 and has aprox 40.000 km
What do you quys think ?

Hello again George. Are the engines running ? if so, you can use a pressure tester on the cylinders to check they're OK.
There is also a kit you can get called oil spy. It's an old way of testing the inside of the engine for head gasket leaks, and various other workings of the internals of the engine.
The older mechanics swear by this bit of kit, and it's only a bit of paper, but very good.

Noo the engine are out of the cars. They imported from japan.
I have e question i notice the in the throttle of the engine there are 2 sokets insted of one us mine ? Do you know something for this?
I attached pic of mine. The engines there have 2 sockets.? I try to find out to the internet but no luck

Automatic will be fine. The throttle body looks fine to me too. One connector for throttle position sensor and one for the maf sensor
 
Does the 1.3 still have the flat plate where the silicone is on yours? Two connector seems normal to me but without a photo I. Not sure

Guys i found something strange here
Infinity my friend check below the throttle with the 2 sockets
Also the engine code is CGA3 BUT the engine is dizzy.the engine on the back in the cornern write 41B 908B (on my car says 41B 907B) !!!! Please check the pic!!!!
The other one is with one socket as mine
I guess the engine is CGA3DE 2000–2003 1.4 L (1348 cc) but dizzy??

But my question is .. is it possible to put the specific engine on my car frank?
Or is better to just buy the other one ( CG13DE )
 
i,ve fitted cga3 engines to my old k11 george, and fitted the dizzy cylinder head on, so if it has a dizzy it should fit np
 
It looks like cg13 to me too and like frank says, if its got a dizzy should be good to go. BTW nice info on the tps, I had no idea the automatic was different

If i took the cga3 the connections are the same with mine?
My ecu is going to be ok with this engine?
Because the australian guys says are not the same and am going to have issues
Also i guess the parts i limited for this engine
