wanna try a short-shifter!

I wondering if anyone has a spare short shifter for a k11 laying around? I wish to try how it feels having shorter shifts, but i'm a cheapskate when it comes to modding. Even thinking of a diy short shifter Any options or maybe a diy guide?

Btw, frank! How is the plastic ball fixed to the rod? Some sort of clamping screw or pressed on grooves? Oh and how high can i go, whats the danger zone? Is it possible to mess up the linkage route and end up in only neutral position?

its moulded over a swaged bit mate, so you,re best to heat the plastic to soften it, and you can only lift it to the bent bit really (10mm ish)

I extended the bottom of the gearstick like this to shorten the travel (also upgraded to ball bearing bushes)

That's even better, because the bushings are dead anyway. Polly, have you ran into any trouble by driving around without a heat shield?

nope. the chassis tunnel just gets abit warm during trackdays & long congestion.

Had to modify the holes slightly. The gear change feels great and it seems to engage, however I fitted it in 2009 and the car has never been drive-able since. Also depends whether you class £31.20 inc postage as within the "cheap skate" realm or not.
