Valve Clearance,please help

Hi everyone,recently hears some noise from tappet "ta..ta...ta...ta.." when idling.
Wanna reset the valve clearance but not sure the spec is,anyone please give me some information.
And currently i have an idea to rebuild a 1.3 motor to instead my 1L now.However,what sort of camshaft,piston,rod,crankshaft i can upgrade?wanna make a grunt N/A March~High rev as well ^^

i think the inlets were 0.2-0.35mm and exhaust were 0.3-0.45mm? can't remember exactly.
i'll check again when i'm home.
i ordered my 14 shims from nissan that costed me bout £80
certainly sorted the tappin valves from my 1.3

this noise could be the timing chain. ther's a kit on ebay for about £100

i'd check the valve clearances first.

right, when the engine's cold the inlet clearances should be 0.25 to 0.33mm (aim for 0.29mm) and the exhausts should be 0.32 to 0.40mm (aim for 0.36mm).

Excuse me butting in..
Feeler gauge should be a drag fit, better to aim for round numbers (0.3/ 0.4, only using one feeler gauge.

forgot to mention, nissan supply shims in odd values like 0.22 0.24 0.26 etc

Thanks for the information guys~!BTW,i don't think it will be the timing chain noise.Is not that loud.
