Hi, I see that a few posts have been made about alternators / battery and I have read through them and tried all the advice.
Randomly the car stopped charging.
I checked the voltage on the alternator and it was only putting out 12.V maybe that was just the battery.
The voltmeter on the dash always reads 14+ and now, the same problem it's down to basically 0.
So I swapped the alternator out, and it still won't start, even on jump leads. Voltmeter shows voltage but won't jump.
Put a new earth cable on and cleaned the area to ensure good earths. Checked the small alternator fuse... All good.
Rolled the car down a hill and bump started it, it lasted about 3 seconds and the voltage went pretty much straight to 0
I'm genuinely at a loss now and have no idea what to do
