Those rubber bung/bushes on inside of tailgate

Can you buy these new? Mine have flattened badly and then I open the boot with the remote release then shut my door as I get out of the car, the boot locks due to air pressure ie the bungs arent holding the tailgate away from the lock enough. There are two and theyre on the inside tailgate above where the tail lights are

I'm not sure if you can buy them new, but you could try going to the scrappies and seeing if you could find some in better condition?

have u tried unscrewing out the bung slightly and repositioning the latch abit lower?
