thick oil to reduce engine noise

Although my engine will live forever it is however a bit noisy, what thicker oils are available for a old car with high mileage. I remember you could get a addiditive that helped reduce the noise, but for the life of me i can't remember what its called now.

It looks like golden syrup when you put it in use with fresh oil, works quite well at quietening noisy old engines (TOP TIP; put the can in a bowl of very hot water for a few minutes before adding makes it much runnier and saves spending ages waiting for the stuff to drain out of the can)

get the junkiest, thickest oil you can find for old engines....its about £1.65 a litre in tesco!

Asda do a 20W50 5 litre for about £4.65 too.

ep 90 gear oil should do the trick !
