The Difference Of AC Fitting

Hi I've only recently began in the wonderous world of modifications to the mighty Micras.

I have in my possession a 2002 K11 Micra that has air conditioning fitted, I have seen numerous conversations about how this is very bad for if I'm wanting to make any serious changes to the cars engine and gearbox. The main question I need answering is, is there any real mechanical difference between motors with air conditioning and those without? Could I just pull the air conditioning system out and have what some consider the perfect start point for modifications?

Also should you have the time to read this far I would love some input as to what are good modifications to start out with on this magical go-kart of a car?

Thank you in advance to all those involved, Matthew

Engines are the same just some bolt on brackets and stuff thats different.

Id start with suspension and exhaust, better brakes, and some good seats.

when it comes to the exhaust I'm within the ULEZ area around London, do you have any idea about aftermarket exhausts and manifolds that allow me to conform with said regulations?
