Explane pleasdJust make sure you use them only for shear loads and very light tensile loads
Know of then and never used them. How had you reached.this age and not known of pop rivets?
I was going to use them on the sunroof blankPop rivets are just epicly cool in every way. My bonnet pi s are held on with em and my mudflaps
Think that's safe? I am using stainless ones.Pop rivets are just epicly cool in every way. My bonnet pi s are held on with em and my mudflaps
Stainless 5x10mm quite a few of them need to get it to seal all the way round. As long air can't get under it they'll do just fine
They can hold a mudflap that smacks mud and rocks @ 100+ mph
What size you using?
Yes lol they are for bolts. I was thinking having two bolts at the front. As a safety precaution ?You'll need more than 2
Wrong kind of air intakeAh yes I was thinking that.. Air. That would be fun 130 down a strip and suddenly my blanking plate tears off... Fun!
Using your sunroof as an example:Explane pleasd
Sweet I am not being completely stupid then.Makes sense
Simple silicone sealant all the way round solves all problems
5mm is the best size to use
Ta mate so what my idea was to have to bolts at the front just in case the rivets give way. Too idea? Then use 5mm stainless all the way round at close intervals. What chu think?Using your sunroof as an example:
They are good at stopping it sliding around (sideways forces)
Not as good at stopping it being pulled off upwards as the lip on them isn't that strong as the shank if that makes sense. They're also poor for use where there is a lot of vibration (engine mounts etc).
That's just for the aluminium pop rivets mind, there are many other kinda of rivets
Hmmmm I like the made up ones. I wasn't to sure about acrylic ones. I did think I was going to do it that way to start off. I think it wouldn't of suited the car. What sealent you use frank?the mera guy,s had some blanking panels made up eh

and my perspex one held no probs (just sealered in)

Nah, pop rivets are perfectly fine for a panel like that. You said you were using them for bonnet hinges and stuff so I thought I just give you a heads up on them so you know what you can get away with and not for those other bitsTa mate so what my idea was to have to bolts at the front just in case the rivets give way. Much appreciated mate. Yeah I did think using them for this may have even be a risk tbh. But like we said. As long as air cannot get under Neath it. We be cool.Nah, pop rivets are perfectly fine for a panel like that. Its really weird Ed. The only reason why I said it was hole pipe is that it had shrunk and gone hard. Like i have seen with pipes that get cleaning Chems on. I like my big black ones.Putting it back together must feel good!
And no, it was fuel pipe
Not far off bro lolIts coz Chris has no understanding of different rubber pipe.
He cave man all strange to Chris
LolI like big black ones.
