Swapping engines???

TWO QUESTIONS!!!!!


ONE>>>> What is the difference between a standard k10 engine and a jap import engine? Any ideas? As I was told that they only last about 45000 miles due to emisions? is there any way around this? Is there any performance gain, or difference that results in this prob?


TWO>>>> How hard is it to fit an engine in it's enirerty?

One came from the scrappy down the road and costs less than £100, the other has been imported from Japan without you being able to check it out, taken 3 weeks to arrive, and was the same when it came out of the factory.

Very easy, especially with an engine crane and the help of a friend. A lot easier than changing a cam belt or head.

you can change an engine and box in about 2 hours.

an import engine may have egr system on it and it may have a air con pump aswell
