Strange noise, getting quite serious I think...

Sinse i brought my car in april its had this grinding-like (not a harsh grinding!) noise coming from it when the car is moving along, clutch in or out in any gear or neutral etc etc etc

Sounds faster/noisier as the car is going faster

RPM makes no difference, just speed

When i squeeze the gearstick or even touch it the noise changes tone alot, so its definatly coming from something somehow connected to that...

I posted about this before and people suggested gear linkage bushes etc, i have tried all of that, all greased up and fitted correctly. Spring also has been repaired and its still doing it...

Now the noise is gettin alot louder the past few weeks im wondering what it could be and if its serious?

Could it be cuased by a driveshaft thats had it?

Or gearbox thats had it? (altho it does seem to work fine!)

Really running out of ideas... cheers..

is the g/box oil ok ?
bearing in the g/box maybe ?

gearbox oil changed recently (in order to try and fix this) but just as bad lol and its only a 45,000 mile car so id b annoyed if the gearbox was had it.. not much i can do though, how would i check the gbox bearing??

Also i checked the CV Joints before and they looked okay but I should probably check those properly too....

I would imagine its the gearbox. Probably needs a recon to cure it.
