stering lock and ignition

hey guys after all my hard work with the oil change and gettin her shipshape i got in the car and the stering lock would not come off! managed to take the ignition and lock mech from the wheel but cant find a replacement anyone got any ideas?
the key wont even turn with the unit now its been removed so its well jamed!
has anyone else had this prob?

In the first days of having my Super S I have found its occasionally tricky turning the key when the steering is locked...

Perhaps im doing something wrong, but eventually its always worked.

Normal procedure... pull the wheel against the lock which should allow the key to turn right?

yup
