Steering wheel scraping noises...

it gets better... and my steering wheel has started making a scraping noise at the 10 o'clock to 2 o'clock position... sounds like sand too...

is it the bearings?
expensive job or not?

is it the steering column cowling coming in contact with the back of the steering wheel ? mine does and it sounds like shuffling on a sandy board.

yes thats the noise... a lot of consensus from work colleagues that it may be exactly that and just needs some greasing... which grease I have no idea as someone said GEL? will leave it to the garage... don't think I should drive it too much until then as I may cause more damage...
