will they fit in your doors?...cos they look realy deep...
unless your sapcing them out, but yeah reading those specs they look pretty decent..

will deffinately need an amplifier...

I've got the DLS component speakers in the doors and pillars. I was thinking of these for the package shelf to replace the stock ones as they'll fit right in.
I'm aware that shelf speakers are frowned upon by some on this site, especially 6 x 9s, but I like that surround sound effect they give off rather than everything coming at you from the front.

Didn't want to do any amping at this time. Just thought these might give me a little more bass without an amp.

I also was wondering about the build quality. Seems like an awful lot of speaker for the price, although they have been discounted from £139.00.

Dont you dare get them!!! They are pap, you should spend the money on amping up your front speakers first. Afterall, thats where you'll be sitting.

They have never been discounted, thats just the price of them. 'Theloudest' isnt a brand, its just a company that imports oem units from China and puts their own name on them.

Look for some decent secondhand units, or alternatively (and preferably) amp the fronts!! If the fronts go loud properly, you really shouldnt need rears.

TheLoudest also make some amps (like '8000w' ones), which put out nowhere near their quoted figure, but a cheap.

Go for them if you 'really' want to, but personally I'd advise against it.

What is your budget?

budget .......nope dont recognise that word..lol

its not the number of speakers in the system but the quality of the speakers in that system.

sometimes the number of speakers can sound initialy better than a decent set up with just two..... but very rarely have the quality.

for instance...... a set of 6 jvc speakers in a car against a set of 2 Genesis audio components?.......

i can see where you are coming from, but then not everyones tatses or budgets are the same.... so...go for what you want to.... but remember.. what people do most often is buy speakers "just for now" and wait untill later to upgrade....

WRONG... you will allways spend more money that way and you will allways regret it... save up...... save up for the right stuff before you waste your money on inferior products....
then buy what you can afford realisticaly but the best you can afford..

Audiobahn, vibe, Alpine, JL, Infinity......all companies that will and do produce "cheap" speakers but they arent all that.... some of the better speakers from these companies are a lot more expensive but there is a reaosn for this.

save up!!

JL is by no means cheap....!!

I also suggest you listen to some speakers before you buy them, as they all sound different.

Okay, scrub the the Chinese speakers, but I came pretty close to buying them. Money is not an issue (my wife might contest that statement), here, but pragmatism is: this car is 14 years old (I am much older) and you have to know when to call it quits on this sort of thing. It's a hobby, sort of, and I like tinkering around with it. I'm not into body kits, etc., so that leaves mechanicals and the sound system. Upgrading the sound system, however, is like opening a bag of crisps: very difficult to stop at just one.

First came the co-axials for the doors, then a new HU, then a little sound deadening, then out with the co-axials and in with components. Swoping out the rear speakers was the next step because it involved the least amount of work. And I wasn't necessarily looking for cheap. Those speakers looked like more bang for the buck. But I've also been around long enough to know that, generally, you get what you pay for.

Anyway, looks like I'm back to possibly amping the fronts (you finally hammered that into me). I'm thinking something compact that will fit under the passenger's seat. Four channel, if possible, in case I want to upgrade the rears later on (never a sub, however). If I can get one with a wiring kit for under £100 I'd be happy. I'll see what CAD have on offer.

So, thanks for the advice. Very helpful, and I do pay attention.

cheap as in cost....relatively speaking....

genesis audio anyone?...£7000 for components?

Or £120, they cater for all. Same as JL Audio, £80 for coaxials or custom amps and speakers for £k's.

Btw, there is a 4-channel JBL amp on Bass Junkies (i never usually recommend them!) for £75, the 75.4.

It's £100 on CAD so thats a £25 saving. Plenty of power too, 114wrms x 4 into 4ohms :)
