Slow starting issue

Hi ,
Recently had my cg13 rebuilt and timing advanced with 272° cams. Tucked my engine bay and put battery in boot.

My problem is every time I start the car it sounds like I've a dead battery and sluggish to turn over but it does start every time. Battery reads 12.58v when car off and reads 13.00v when running. So I know its getting charge.

Could my problem be a sluggish starter ,bad engine earth , or down to timing being advanced?

Engine bay was painted and maybe causing bad earth..

Car is 1997 gx with 1995 1.3

Any solution frank? I used 0 gauge wire with 250 amp fuse

is it any better if you use jump leads finto ?

Haven't had to with new battery but with old battery it did

i would try that new battery with jump leads mate, then that will confirm/rule out timing or battery voltage

If it was battery voltage drop. Would moving battery to under seat make a difference ( shorter cable length) ?

yes, thats why i moved mine to the passenger footwell

Does a standard battery fit under seat ? Or do I need a smaller battery?
