skyline hitting the limiter at 4000rpm?

my mate has got a skyline in the garage and for some reason is limiting at 4000rpm and he can not for "love n money" find out what is causing the problem, can anyone shed some light on the matter?

frank, can i have some more info and how you would go about fixing it?

rob, na mate it isnt although its doing the very same thing and its white too lol

ed, i'll get him to do that tomorrow, is there anythink he should be looking out for (although he probs knows what to look for but just incase he doesnt lol)

Gents, It's the AFM. (air flow meter). If it's not that it's the factory boost controller. Ask your mate if when he revs it fully does it hesitate and power down. Get back to me and I'll do my utmost to help him.

yea its in the ecu thats causing it to limit at 4000 rpm as ed said plug it to a diagnostic machine
