Screeching/Whining noise coming from engine. help???

Hi,

I have a micra k12 1.2 s and I have noticed a strange screeching/whining like noise coming form the engine when I turn it off. I was told it could be to do with the fuel compression??

I was wondering if anyone could help me as I'm not sure if it's safe.

Hi Chloe, K12s are known for screechy alternator belts. Nothing to serious . Maybe you could get a local garage to have a look at it for you. Where abouts are you? Ps. Check my sig and sign my guestbook .

As Guy said its nothing to worry about assuming it is the alternator belt. But if you want peace of mind then get a mechanic to have a looksee and give his/her opinion (Y)
