Scrapping

Is there anyway to inform the dvla that you've scrapped a car without the log book, cause I've lost mine and I don't want to spend £25 on a new one

When my car was scrapped, i did it without the V5. I just wrote it on a piece of paper and the breakers dealt with it, so i'm assuming there is a way. What happened to your car?

Cheers alan but the car went yesterday so I'll write to the dvla… and what happened hehe blew a piston ring or possibly 3 and there was so much rust it wasn't worth welding =) but that's cool I've got my new car

you just have to write a note informing them that its been scrapped. The scrap merchants send a copy too but it's best if they can confirm it with 2!

Good thing I'm friends with the people who scrapped it lol I can get them to do it for me
