haha that's the exact thought I was thinking when I took the picture!

Hahahahaha, amazing it held the fastest N/A 1/4mile record at POD for years and still does for a CG13DE powered car from the MSC.

i sold it to a person called luke, how is the car now?

Yeah, Luke Davis is my brother who passed it on to me! The cars great, its such a good little runner and very nippy for a 1.3, Its such a great first car!(Y) I'm glad to see it came from a good place before and not some granny driver.

.....mine ;) hehehe. Although there would be hot air ingestion in traffic it did make good power on the run and before we fitted the Jenvey's, (105.6bhp at Eds on surrey rolling road). Looks crap because it cost about £5 to make, (excluding the filter), and was something I did not long after I got the car back in 2001 and I could never be bothered to change it, (stock modified airbox made less power). It was supposed to sit to the right hand side of the engine near the battery.

It's now up to 123bhp thanks a set of Jenveys and Ed's mapping kudos and ran the 1/4mile in 15.7 when we were testing at POD earlier in the year. Not too had considering I never got a good launch.......the gripper LSD, paddle clutch and lightened flywheel are taking a fair bit of getting used to and I either bogged down or span out ;)

I'd take it to Crail but it's simply not feasable just to settle the 1/4mile arguments that pop up every now and then regarding times.

It could go faster but it's setup for track use, (stiff suspension, big brakes, large tyres). It'll hit 60 in around 7.6secs on road tyres but that's on a G-Tech, so not official........I'm sure I could better it with R888's but I'm doubtful of a hugely faster time at POD, because if you run lower tyre pressures for example you get a quicker 60ft time but usually end up with a slightly lower final sector. POD is sooo darn sticky unless you have big power the drag of the strip makes a major influence on cars with little torque, (100lb/ft).

Have you got a pic of the car/engine bay now (low rider)? is the car stripped out?

thanks

Paul

I have one or two on the home PC somewhere but I'm offshore in the north sea sector at the moment. It's missing the rear seats and spare wheel, otherwise it's got all it's internals........I like to have door trims, carpets etc :)

That's Napster with Kev by the looks of it, and jim_blings old car is the one on the left of the third pic!

Theres me (guy with long hair looking at the car) directly behind james's right shoulder, this was 2 years ago though when I as 15!

Yep, direct replacement and available in Red or Blue. From memory a full hose set is around the £200 mark all in but you can buy them individually, (10% discount on a full set though).
