Rusting Sills

Hi,

My Micra just failed its MOT because of rust on the sill. I am getting this welded so it will pass but want to try and stop it happening again. My plan is to put some Waxoil into the sill with the rust before they weld it at the shop. Will this stop further rusting? I would also like to put some waxoil on the other side to stop this happening there, but it is sealed up. Is there a way to access the inside of the sill without drilling a hole in it?

Waxoil will help...you can gain access to the sills either behind the rear trim panels, or if you pull back the carpet you should find maybe two or three holes covered up with sticky backed paper along the door/sill line, peeling this back will let you get to the inside of the sill...or you can use some of the smaller holes to spray through.
