Reversing Light Probs!!

I have a 1996 nissan micra 1.0l 16v manual,
the problem is that i have no reversing light, ive bridged the plug that goes to the switch on the gearbox and the light comes on which is telling me that it is not the electrics in the car.....:grinning:, so i went out and bought a 100% working switch and replaced it for the old one and still no light:down:, im thinking it must be the 'bar' or somethink in the gearbox not touching the switch??? is that possible and also if it is is it fixable??fwn

they are not part of the mot so unless you realy want them to work then forget about it

Same problem with mine, get someone to stand behind the car, and you hold the stick hard in reverse, then my light comes on. MOT place decided that they could fix it, £60 later, same problem. Mine is very intermittant. If im going backwards, it flashes.
