How do you wire in an aftermarket rev counter with the gear change light to a micra that has no rev counter

in brief your rev counter will probably have 4 wires? 1 is ground (more than likely black) 1 is positive, needs to be wired up to an ignition positive (more than likely red) 1 will be for the illumination (if it has it) this doesnt actually need to be wired but if you want to you have to pick up live when the lights are turned on, (the 1st 3 wires can all be picked up from behind the radio)

the final wire is the speed pickup, this needs to go the rev signal, now the easiest place to pick this up is from the dizzy, but it can also be found at the ecu sometimes.

what you need is the wiring diagram for the car and the one for the revcounter.

my counter had these wires:

red - ignition
black - ground
yellow - illumination ( i linked it to my headlights so the numbers come on in the dark)
green - dizzy

i just put it to one of the pins on the ecu like i got old to on here but in a mornig i put my heater on and am doing 4000 revs lol

Your switch on the back. Check it's on 4Cyl.
