Remove rear damper

How can i remove the top nut on the rear damper?? Cant get it loose even with a mole grip on the top of the shaft.

If you have access to one try an impact gun failing that you might have to try and get your mole grips on the shaft of the damper thats if your replacing it i wouldnt recomend it if you plan on reusing the same damper.

you shouldnt have too many problems with the rear damper top nut.... theres a flat section on top of the damper rod. haynes manual suggests adjustable spanner on top of this, and a round ended spanner on the nut. if you cant undo them like this, get some bigger tools!
