rear brake lights

:k10: hi im having problems :down: with my left hand brake light the bulb keeps blowing every fortnight ive checked the feed to it and the bulb holder an every thing is ok there isnt any corrosion on the terminals or bulb holder is it a common problem?cheers

not a common problem...Im on the original rear bulbs after 15 years!...my guess is either the relacements are chatty or perhaps the wrong rating...I would check this first.

The only other thing that will cause a bulb to blow (not including broken glass) is if it draws too much current for its rating...and the only thing that would cause this is if the voltage accross it was too high (may be a voltage spike) but this would more than likely take other bulbs and / or fuses with it.

Yeah you might want to take out the multimeter and do some checking if there is anything wrong with the electrical stuff.
Other than that, check again if you have bought the correct bulbs which could be the most simpelest solution
