Radio & Lights fault

Afternoon,

I was looking for some help.

A friend has a Y plate micra and sometime ago someone tried to fit a new stereo. The new radio is a fiarly basic JVC CD/Radio, but who ever tried to fit it managed to fit a magic switch. If the headlights are turned on then this turns off the radio. Lights off; radio on.

I have a feeling there is incorrect wiring and was hoping to find a schematic for the wiring, but can't find one.

It would be really usful to know what each colour wire is for.

easy to fix, someone has wired the radios earth into the illumitation wire which i think is orange

The radio and the rearlights are on the same fuse i think.

its nothing to do with fuses it to do with the radios earth as it been wired in to the illumination wire that is all

I had alot of trouble installing my radio in my k11 as the previous owner cut the plugs off. Still doesnt work 100%

i have same problem, but i'll try do resolve that in this weekend.

Easy one that, disconnect the radio- lights link as most stereos don't even support this feature.
I had this problem trying to connect my Sony stereo and it was down to a dodgy ISO adapter, just pull out the orange wire. Easy!
