Points have broken again!

The Points on the Micra have broken, again! :doh:

The weird thing is that it broke the spring in exactly the same place, it's snapped right on the bend! Luckily I had bought 2 sets of points the last time it happened. I've now replaced the points and everything is hunky dory again

2 sets of spare points coming up fwn

I'm going to try and fit an electronic one soon and hopefully banish points forever...wooohaahahaha...ahem

That's what i would do too, but they also have their faults! mine caused major mis fires

Yeah fit the elecy one, would make it alot easier...

indeed you need to get a coil and the dissy in order to change it over very easy job and makes the car run alot better, although after about 100K miles the control chip in the dissy tends to fail so if you use a second hand dissy make sure its got low millage. changing out the control chip is pretty much impossible. other than that one issue they are fine

Thanks for the heads up on the problems peeps, it's done over 100,000mls but seems to be in fine fettle (Y)
