diesels should be banned from all forms of motorsport outside of mud pulling and truck racing.
the sound of 30+ V8-V12 and V-10 engined racing cars on the starting lap at lemans is something the sport was made to give. replacing that atmosphere with one of oil burning black cloud machines that sound like a hackney CAB. its tantermount to sacrilege!
remember the porsches of the lat 70's early 80's? the silk cut jaguars of the early 90's? what about the 4rotor Mazda 787B????
now think of them runing around lemans with the sound track of a massey furguson tractor in the background..
