Optimum Filter for Almera Airbox

Heard pipercross performance panel filters are supposed to be pretty good for a little bit of roar and for making the flat spot of 2.5k rpm a little better

I want a little bit of induction roar but nothing too chavvy, any other recommendations?

Thanks for the help!

Never been impressed with Piper Cross foam based filters K&N or JR panel filters for me.

Hi, I tried k and n panel Filter. Engine light came on after 2 weeks of putting the filter in. Engine fault code was MAF sensor and I heard rumours that the oil lubricated k and n filters can cause the maf sensors to clog up with oil particles, so I refunded the filter. Not sure if it was the filter to blame or the fact I drove 600 miles in 2 days pretty much constantly on motorway in a car that was poorly maintained at that time.

So I'll look into JR thanks

Sounds like the K&N was over lubricated... I've had one in my K12 for about 6K miles now with no problems at all....
I had a J&R panel filter (TUV approved) in my original W reg Saab 9-3 turbo, for something like 70K miles, and cleaned and re-lubed 4 or 5 times in that period, and I have a K&N in my current 2007 9-3 Sport Wagon, been in there for about 15K miles now so probably due for a clean and re-lube soon

I used a cheap paper filter from local Motor Parts Direct.

I also modified the original snorkel to fit in the K11 engine bay. No issues.
