OBD II connector? (real time MPG gauge)

Hi!

I'm new(ish) here, but have checked for references to Scangauge, MPG
Gauge, OBD etc, and found nothing.

I'm wondering if the 1998 R-reg 1.0 Micra comes with an OBD II connector?
Because I will be able to fit a gauge giving loads of readings such as
instantaneous fuel economy if it does!. In the US, every car since 1996 has
one by law, so maybe over here?

There is a connector near the fuses but don't know what type it is.

that is an obd/or II connector but as far as i know u cant get the real time mpg that u want from it...

Is that because the Micra OBD II connector doesn't support it? Because, most OBDII connectors apparently do!

only micras made 2000 on have OBD II. what is this device called? sounds intresting and miine has an OBD II..

'Scangauge II' - it is a bit expensive though.

A few weeks ago, I saw some MPG gauges, that plug into the OBD II
connector, on ebay, for about 30-ish pounds, but can't find them anymore

The scangauge shows other stuff like RPM etc + fault codes too.

The Blitz R-VIT does a similar job but doesn't show MPG.
I had it for my Civic Type-R, plugs into the OBD II port.
