Sorry for the thread revival, but I was bored and stumbled into this from google (as it usually goes...)
Reading through it looks like L759GCF was very close to being scrapped, which would have been a real shame, as over the last year Ive had an absolute blast with this car
Just a month after becoming the new owner, she was put through her MOT (at quite a cost but had to be done!) and after a service, lowered springs, vented front discs and racing pads, she was off on a there, back, there and back again trip through Europe, 6700 miles and never missed a beat! Taking in multiple car shows, a few laps of the Nurburgring and participating in the Gatebil Rudskogen festival, it also got me round quite a few of Norway's tourist routes, including the Atlantic road and Trollstigen (and took the opportunity to handbrake the hairpins on the way back.... Being a foggy day I couldnt see the drop below, so wont be doing that again
)
Having done some 16000 miles during my ownership shes still going strong, with very little drama to report. Unfortunately my job isnt glamorous.... Pizza delivery
But it is with possibly the largest pizza company in the world, which means daily racing around town as everything is timed, which means ample seat time to develop further, as Im looking at doing some RWYB drag racing this year
Which begs the question, has any previous owner of this car ever done anything major to it? I take every opportunity to floor it, but I constantly get flagged down asking what Ive done to it by other drivers (including a new M3 and RS4 owners?) And yet all that I can list is semi slicks on standard wheels, lowering springs, pulsar short shift kit and a K&N filter in the standard airbox. Surely it cant look that fast for 75BHP?
Anyhoo, sorry to anyone thinking theres a Super S up for grabs, just wanted to let previous owners know shes living a good life, and Im doing my damnedest to keep it that way!
PS, anyone got a cheap Janspeed 421 manifold? Thats next on my list!
