Newbie.. Help?!

Hi,
My girlfriend has a 2001 1.0 Vibe. Can anyone tell me what engine this is? Im wondering if anything can be done to give it a bit more get up and go!
Any help would be appreciated.

welcome, the engine is a coil pack 1.0. You can change the air filter, make a cold air feed, fit a performance exhaust and manifold,

Only thing to ask is when was it serviced last and who did it

Dont think its been serviced for a long time but has only done 25k

That will be a CG10DE with coil packs. 59BHP

You can do a lot to the Micra engine, you can go for uprated Cams, less restricted exhaust system/manifold can give extra BHP.

Turbo's can be fitted although quite expensive. One of the best ways to increse the speed is take out the engine and fit a bigger one. lol.

The air intake on the Micra is a bit crud, so some people give a better air flow to the air box by adding extra air intake pipes.

What sort of power increase would an induction kit give? That seems like a quick and cheap option to start with maybe.

An induction Kit on it's own won't really do much, the sound is a lot better but you won't see a power increase to be honest with you.

Unless you get a decent air feed to the induction kit it is possible to see a power decrease.

not much to be honest, it works best if you fit an exhaust system as well. modestly i think you are looking at 2-4 bhp increase.
