My Shicra build project

Hi guys and girl,

I have finally got my car

Time to start my build thread I think,
I own a 1997 pre face lift K11 I paid £200 for. It a 1.0l with 128,000 miles on the clock, I am the 3rd owner from new it is nick named Shicra

Since I've had it I have removed the 3 wheel trims, done a full service on it, changed the rocker cover bolts go stainless steel, added a snap on swag cover, fixed the drivers window regulator.

Here is some pics of it.

My plans with is are:
-lower on alto springs
- corsa b rear shocks
-2" stainless steel exhaust
-cobra back box
-14" alloys
-Toyo proxies
-DVDs radio or tablet
-bucket seats
-nismo grill
And some more stuff will come to me as and when.

Will be updated as an when I do work to her.

So today I decided to try and try the black pipe going to the air box off (someone dropped their ratchet) and I ended up doing this in the process

This happened to mine when I dropped a spanner on it! They are worth replacing as they get so brittle with age, and crumble under the tiniest force.

Ice heard you don't need them? Can I just run the pipe down the side of my rad or is it needed?

You don't need it. They were never fitted to cars years ago. It's an environmental thing.

Totally recommend the corsa shocks, a lot harder than the oem ones lessens body roll alot

Alto springs is a 50mm drop?
Also got a mk4 Astra splitter to fit

Hello Kiza. Was it the feed to the purple wire?

Haven't been able to get the Rev counter working yet the speedo was sorted out by hitting the casing and driving the car down the road

Mmmmm, the speedo has been sitting around for quite a few months, maybe using it will sort it.
Take the front off, and turn the needle by hand to free it up maybe?

Just try turning the needle by hand bud, you won't damage it. It should move really easily. If not, that could be the problem. Tiny bit of WD40 on the spindle if stiff, or stuck.

Just got some corsa B rear shocks that adjustable (stiffness) for £20 and I'm picking them up Sunday.

Only 1 question do corsa B rear Spring fit or am I better going with alto springs?

Pretty sure alto springs dont think the corsa springs dont fit

Had a good day at the scrappy's today.

Also got this, been messed around a bit, broken spindles, red needles instead of white, but fixable.

And this off a busted up pre-face-lift, worth saving I thought.

Here's a cross member in not so good condition, probably why she was scrapped.

Not Speaking from experience, but i remember someone saying 185/50s all depends on offset too so

I was think illumines pink
