my first ever micra.

Hi all i have recently got my first k11 micra. It has the cg10de engine with distributor and a manual gearbox.

First off, does anyone know where i can get replacement door hinges from as mine are worn on the pin a dropping.

secondly any tip tricks or anything to look out for?

Try a local breakers yard for the hinges. They are quite easy to get a hold of. I've replaced mine before, a garage local to me sells and repairs a lot of micras so it was easy to pop in and get them from there.

Just check the cross member and sills for the old rusty problems.

Definitely agree with those things Davy. I've been lucky so far and not had those problems.

Try and get the door hinges from a 5 door as they're the same but the doors are smaller so they're usually in better nick.

I am a mechnic by training so can tick that box

Annoying i have just found what looks like a verticle crack in the passenger side bodywork below the rear window

Esit : turns out the rear passenger side quarter is 3-4mm thick with filler. I see alot of sanding, metal pulling and paint spraying etc ahead

......yep, off a car in a scrapyard. Cheers for the tip. Bagged N14 Almera callipers too.

My son removed the seats from the Almera and tried to match them up to the broken Micra floor, too wide, would have be lush though.
