finally picked up a k11 micra, was on the hunt for ages for an S or Gx and this one popped up this morning and well i bought it. Its turqoise blue i think is the name. Overall its in good condition ,83000 miles ... only things need doing are thermostat,few dents pulled/knocked out, and some rust sorted and she should fly through the nct.

But that DOES look like a typical Euro'd up Golf. Looks nice, but not my sorta' thing.

where would the best place to get 50-60mm lowering springs? of they can be got?

Picked up all my service items today including thermostat, also got ultra white headlight bulbs,white rear license plate lights,black tax disc holder

Done a few jobs to it today. The sills were all bent up from were idiots were jacking it wrong

so i straightened it out ,coated it with hammerite and its waiting its top coat. Its not an ideal fix but it willl pass the nct

Also installed my night breaker headlight bulbs

Ive also added a picture of my sisters micra which i aiming at , Low,14inch bbs and s spoiler

Car is now flying , Have it polished to the nines ,engine fully serviced, just have to do the belts, Next job on the list is to sort the slight rust in the arches then NCT it. Ordered some micra org,rising sun and dent stickers too and some new license plates coming along now

Received my japenese sun rise sticker and dent sticker off Pro Cut vinyl! Got them on no bother and think they look great! Rented out a valeting machine and took out the seats and did a proper job! as you can see b the windows theres still moisture in the car but alot cleaner

I have made a start at my grill transforming it into a nismo grill, its all cut out but just needs a bit of fine tuning around the corners and a spraying matte black i think. Also through on the e30 splitter i had on my brothers micra looks a bit deeper on the front , coming together nicely now , wind delfectors should be coming this week ad maybe an S spoiler

Went into halfords today to pick up a 2 pre out cd player and this pioneer one was on offer so i grabbed it ! Have my RCA cables all connected up just have to run a live 12v from the battery to the amp and a remote wire from the antenna and hopefully we have a boooooom! (with the subwoofer of course)

As i said i cut out my grill to give it the nismo effect and put on my e30 spiltter , i think it looks well just neeeds to be filed out abit more and sprayed with a black mesh in behind

No offense bit I think that straight opened front grill is to much "squared" and doesn't fit the rest of the round shaped car, stock grill on the red one looks much better and clean.

Thanks for your opinion but its still not finished . I think i will paint it black, then black mesh it and a nismo badge I just hated the old grill and had to chop it! also in the pictures its not clipped in so its not sitting right

You don't lacquer matte paint, it turns gloss

but would it now come off real easy then? does matte need to be baked on or what? as i ran over the second coat with a hairdryer and it dryed it out to a grey so thats the final coat you can see

no, use your matt black as the basecoat, then spray matt lacquer ontop

Not sure, matt lacquer isn't actually that common, a google search may be the best idea.....or my favorite, eBay

it doesnt bother me if the wheels are matte or gloss tbh! i brought it into the house there as it was out in a frezzing cold shed! needs some touching up around the lip em i suppose it will only come off from washing,stones and kurbing? so i may just gloss them

booked my nct , bought fuel filter,waterpump and belts this week too! received my micra sportclub.net stickers not sure if i like them there that big! few pics of one of the wheels sprayed just needs to be repainted around the rim as i missed bits

Have you repaired the n/s rear arch for your nct? Unless from the pictures it just looks like a big hole

hello,
dropped the micra in for its nct/mot, it failed on visuals (lisense plate,wiper blades, bulb) all of which have been fixed so it should pass tommorow! Starting to cut the springs tuesday ,hope to cut 3 coils and try out my spacers on top of the shock shortening them, few pics of the grill and what i want the car to look like

3 Coils off the springs !! That will be extremely low and i doubt they will be captive.

Thats with just over 2 coils off the rear and matiz shocks.

Im running a different setup on the front. Ive got matiz struts with the spring perch lowerd. What do you mean banging?

Oh i see well the fron has to go slightly lower so i dont get reverse rake i just cut half a coil at a time! Like in my sisters micra she has the spirngs cut with normal shocks and the bottom out the whole time has your shortened shocks stopped this? hopefully my spacer and wahser will sort that

Yeah dont go straight for 2 coils just cut half off each time. Its grounds out sometimes but only at the front of the car. Things that scrape on mine are the front 2 tow hooks under the bumper and gearbox support bar. I think the shorter shocks are just to keep the springs captive.

cut the coil springs today i took out the original bumpstops and added my new bmw e30 bump stops! placed two strong washers on the shock collar and pushed it up, i then placed 2 spacers on the shock taper and tightened it down! No banging or noises it drives great! 2 coils off the rear 3 off the front!
